Quantum Biology: from Molecules to Medicine

We are thrilled to offer an intensive course, titled ‘Quantum Biology: from Molecules to Medicine’ being offered by the faculty members at IIT Delhi and AIIMS New Delhi. The course will run from July 31 to August 2.

We begin with an introduction to quantum mechanics (particularly relevant for doctors and biochemists) by Dr. Tarak Karmakar, and then delve into a wide range of energy and electron-transfer mechanisms in biological systems by Dr. Aarat Kalra. We then feature two lectures on experimental techniques used to probe quantum effects, delivered by Dr. Navendu Mondal. The ‘bio-end’ is also covered in this course (important for physical chemists and physicists looking to enter the field), with Dr. Parul Mehrotra delivering two lectures on electron transport in the mitochondria, and how it influences stress and aging. We then demonstrate the use of quantum biology in the clinic through a lecture and virtual lab session on phototherapy by Prof. Somesh Gupta and Dr. Newshree Rout from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

To discuss challenges and identify the roles of entrepreneurs in quantum biology, Dr. L Venkat Subramanium and Prof. Pawan Dhar will deliver power-packed lectures followed by a discussion session.

The registration fees is ONLY Rs 5000 (USD$ 50) plus taxes, and certificates will be provided to all registered participants.
